From time to time homes become available for sale or rent here at Heartwood.  This section provides a listing of those homes.  The development of Phase 2 is now in progress and full details of Phase 2 can also be found here.


Moving to Heartwood is much more about joining a community than it is about buying a home.  While you’ll find out about what homes are available in this section, make sure and check out the Membership page of the Getting Involved section to learn about joining our community.


Occasionally there may also be Heartwood members who are considering possibly selling or renting in the future, but have not made their final decision. If you would like to learn more about those possibilities, please contact the Membership team.


Phase 1 of our community is made up of 10 custom built homes and 14 production built homes.  Ten of the homes are duplex units and 14 are single family detached homes.  The duplex homes are located on the west wing and all but five of the single family detached homes are located on the north wing.  That combination and configuration was based on optimizing solar gain and efficient land use.


All of our homes are passive solar and energy efficient.  Our production homes have received a from-plans E-star energy rating of 85 -- considerably above the Colorado State Energy Code rating of 72.  The certified inspector who prepared the rating analysis said that it was one of the highest scores he's ever seen.  Additionally, our production built homes were constructed with over 80% of the lumber coming from sustainably harvested forests.  All of our sustainably harvested lumber was either third party certified or produced locally by community members.


Almost all of the custom built homes were constructed using alternative technologies such as straw-clay and strawbale and finished with natural earth plasters and stuccos.  Most of them utilize gorgeous timber frame construction using sustainably harvested lumber.
