Big Changes at Heartwood!

Phase 2 Cluster is Taking Shape

Thanks to the stretch of warm, sunny days, construction on the 14 Phase 2 homes is moving quickly. Utilities are almost all in place, most of the foundations have been poured, and three of our charming 1,100 sf Juniper cottage-homes are framed.

With two carport buildings going up alongside the three framed Junipers, it’s exciting to see the new Phase 2 cluster taking shape. It's easier everyday to imagine walking over to a neighbor's house to hang out over a cup of coffee as kids on bikes cruise up and down the new pedestrian pathway.

Yesterday evening, I took a sunset stroll to see the construction progress and then relaxed with a hike on our Heartwood trails. Here are a few photos from my walk.

Special trusses are being installed on a Juniper home to create valuable extra attic storage. Thoughtfully engineered, the Juniper delivers lots of storage within a compact, ultra energy efficient two bedroom layout. With everything on a single level, it’s an ideal home for those planning to comfortably age in place.

The basement walls of one of our Ponderosa homes are shown here with orange insulative drainboard, an example of our commitment to high-quality construction. Homeowners will never actually see this hidden layer, but it’s part of what makes these homes exceptional at their core – built to be highly durable and super energy efficient. This drainboard helps keep basements warm and dry. Full-height ceilings, oversized windows, and expanded window wells make the basement level feel open and spacious while inviting in an abundance of Colorado sunshine.
