Here's what Phase 1 Homeowners Say about Their Homes
Alana (#10)
We love our home at Heartwood for many reasons, not the least of which the sense of internal privacy while maintaining cluster proximity for the value of connections. As a realtor, I have been in hundreds of homes and can attest to the outstanding build quality and design of our home. It is incredibly energy efficient, provides lots of light, and the space is well thought out.
Gay (#11)
The passive solar design works great! I love the pantry off the kitchen.
Matthew (#4)
We love our home! It's well designed and built. It's passively energy efficient and maintains its temperature a long time. We love having our windows open and have great airflow throughout the house when we do so. There's a lot of natural light and great views. The floor plan works wonderfully for our family of three (soon four) with a great balance of open and private spaces.
Gail (#15)
I moved into my Phase 1 home in February of 2000. I love my home. It was very efficiently built with excellent windows, insulated walls, etc. I have a southeast exposure which I wanted for the solar gain in the winter and reduced sun in the summer. I also have large kitchen and dining room windows that collect the natural light and the sunshine.
Beth (#13)
I love our Heartwood home! Our home is snug, warm, and comfortable in winter and cool and bright in the summer. I appreciate the high quality construction of our home. We've lived in it for 24 years now with no major repairs. I love how much natural light our home has! This is especially important to me in winter months. In the summer, all the windows help me to see neighbors who are out and about which encourages me to connect with others just by walking out my front door. In short, I love our home and am regularly grateful for its quality!
Becky (#19)
A couple of little things I love about my home are the spacious window sills allowing all kinds of beautiful objects like plants and glass vases to be displayed.
Nisargo (#12)
What we appreciate about our house at Heartwood is how well it is built. Having such solid construction and insulation helps keep the house warm and cozy in winter and cooler in the summer. The outside stucco and metal roof feels safe in relation to fire risk and blends well into the environment. It feels appropriate in our southwest climate. The design of an inviting front porch facing the community and private backyard gives us the option to choose how to relate the outside world. We love the design of the spacious kitchen and the adjacent dining room facing the pathways and neighboring houses. We love the mudroom right off the entrance and a good sized pantry! Big windows allow in the sunlight and the beauty surrounding us. The upstairs bedrooms are a nice size with high ceilings which gives an open feeling. And we really adore our large unfinished basement that holds all our outdoor gear, work area and laundry.
Julie (#3)
Our home has great passive solar, natural light, a thoughtful floor plan and design for our small home, and quality construction.
Paul (#18)
Having lived in our home for less than a year we are so pleased with it! Among the qualities we are delighted with are:
Mac (#16)
This is our forever home. We can't imagine living anywhere else. It's got plenty of room without being too big because it's well designed for space efficiency and flexibility. The 9' ceilings on the first floor and vaulted ceilings on the second floor give it a spacious feel. The kitchen-living room-dining room form a great room that's wonderful for small family dinners as well as big parties. Our home is well insulated and oriented for solar gain meaning that we have very low heating bills and no cooling bills. We don't have or need an air conditioner so we keep our windows open for about half the year, letting in fresh mountain air and the sound of birdsong. The home also invites nature in with its big windows and views of the surrounding forest. The home was built for future flexibility, meaning that we were able to add a large back patio, finish the basement (with lots of natural daylight from the expanded window wells), and many other custom details making the home very much our own. The back patio with large backyard behind offer wonderful quiet and privacy when I just want to chill with family, friends, my dog, or all by myself!
Carly (#14)
We love our home! It has tons of natural light from all of the big windows, letting us look out at the beautiful forests and bask in the warm winter sunshine. The passive solar gain stays in during the winter because it is so well insulated, and as a bonus sound doesn't carry, making kid noise easier to manage. It is well built with spacious rooms and thoughtful finishes.
