Common House Team
Revised 09/18/23
Guests are invited to stay up to 2 weeks per visit in our common house guest rooms (as long as they are not already reserved). The expected nightly donation is $50/night/room. Friends and family visiting Heartwood members may stay free for up to 2 weeks per each visit. Of course, any donations to the common house are always welcome — even from friends and family.
Because of allergies and other considerations, no dogs are allowed in the common house.
Guests are required to pay for their personal laundry usage and Common Meals that they attend.
If a guest plans to stay longer than 2 weeks, he or she needs to communicate with the Common House team and get approval. Guests (including family and friends of Heartwood residents) staying longer than 2 weeks are expected to make the suggested donation of $50/room/night for all days after the first 2 weeks. Guests staying for a period longer than 2 weeks also need to communicate their intentions for use of common house guest rooms and common house facility to the Heartwood community via the chat once approval has been received from the Common House team. Guests occupying the guest rooms for an extended period will need to be willing to vacate the room(s) if they are needed for short-term guests.
Holiday Booking Guideline: Guest rooms are only available to friends and family visiting Heartwood members for the entire week of Thanksgiving, and for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after Christmas.
In general, common house guest rooms are not to be used for business. There may be exceptions to this rule. If a Heartwood friend or member is interested in using a guest room for business use, he or she may approach the Common House team to discuss the possible usage, and work out an appropriate agreement with the Common House team that might include a usage fee and a schedule. They must also review their proposed commercial use of the common house guest rooms with the insurance person on the Finance team to ensure that all insurance issues addressed in our Insurance FAQ document are understood and followed.
